Minister Of Health Claims Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims In 2025 Get Exclusive Access At Saudi Arabian Hospital

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that Indonesian pilgrims have access to exclusive and better hospitals in Saudi Arabia to decide on a referral bureaucracy that is too long so that it can be handled quickly.

"Now the number of personnel we put in the Indonesian Hajj Health Office (KKHI) can decrease, because Indonesian Hajj pilgrims get better and exclusive access to Saudi hospitals, so they don't have to be postponed for too long at the KKHI," said the Minister of Health at a press conference. which was attended online in Jakarta, Friday, confiscated by Antara.

The Minister of Health explained that 2023 will be the peak of the death toll for Indonesian pilgrims with 773 deaths. However, in 2024 the case managed to drop to 461 with various tightening health checks.

"We are making improvements with the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) so that in 2024 it will drop drastically from 773 to 461. This decline is due to changes in health checks, the process is carried out early, there is a tightening of health checks, and the mentoring process," said the Minister of Health.

Minister of Health Budi also appealed to the health of Indonesian pilgrims to continue to be improved, because the high mortality rate will have a negative impact on tightening the following requirements for Indonesian pilgrims.

"If we cannot really maintain the health status, pain, and death of the Indonesian people, it will have a negative impact on the next pilgrims, including the insurance premium price that must be paid by the next Indonesian pilgrims who are also affected," said the Minister of Health.

He explained that the Government of Saudi Arabia has also provided a list of organizations or companies that must serve the health of pilgrims from all over the country, so that the services provided to the congregation can be more appropriate. For this reason, it is hoped that the reduction of health workers can be transferred to the congregation's quota only.

"Indonesia has also chosen a group chosen by India, they distribute it to hospitals throughout Saudi. We hope that the service is better, so health workers don't need more than the previous one, so the quota is better for the congregation," said the Minister of Health.
