Cinema XXI Books Revenue Of IDR 929.2 Billion In The First Quarter Of 2025

JAKARTA - PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk or Cinema XXI (CNMA) posted revenue of IDR 929.2 billion in the first quarter of 2025.

The achievement in the first three months of 2025 was mainly contributed by sales of cinema tickets of 63 percent and the food and beverage business (F&B) line of 33 percent.

President Director of Cinema XXI Suryo Suherman explained that seasonal and momentum factors affect the number of spectator visits and color the dynamics of the cinema industry.

The third month in the first quarter of 2025, which was in March to coincide with the moment of Ramadan. Based on operational history, at this momentum there is a change in consumption trends that affect people's priorities and consumption patterns. Specifically for the entertainment segment, film viewing activities in cinemas are decreasing when compared to normal days," Suryo said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 2.

He explained, in the first quarter of 2025 there were five films that received more than 1 million viewers, while in the same period last year there were seven films.

This condition is also reflected in Cinema XXI's revenue which decreased in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous same period.

However, Cinema XXI still shows healthy business performance by recording positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of IDR 125.2 billion in the first quarter of 2025.

Not only that, the Company also maintains a spend per head (SPH) for the purchase of F&B products amounting to Rp24,425, higher than the same period in 2024 of Rp22,401.

"In the midst of industrial dynamics, we are grateful to be able to record positive EBITDA which shows that operationally the Company's condition remains healthy and stable. In addition, we also continue to expand to present quality, affordable, and easily accessible entertainment destinations for the people of Indonesia. In the first quarter of 2025, Cinema XXI opened four new cinema locations with an additional 15 screens," said Suryo.

The four newest cinemas opened during the first quarter of 2025 are Tenth Avenue XXI Bandung, Living World Grand Wisata XXI Bekasi, City Mall XXI Airport Tangerang, and Mall Indramayu XXI.

The Cinema XXI network until March 31, 2025, has reached 66 cities/regencies throughout Indonesia, with a total of 1,365 screens on 260 cinema locations.

Suryo added that conditions would turn out in the second quarter of 2025.

The number of viewers in April 2025 has approached the total audience gain in the first quarter of 2025. This surge in viewers was contributed by five films that aired during the Eid holiday period. This achievement reflects the strong attraction of cinemas as quality and affordable entertainment venues, as well as the importance of special moments to attract viewers to cinemas," he explained.
