Try Sutrisno's Child Mutation After The Issue Of Gibran's Impeachment Is Considered Political

JAKARTA - The decision of the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto to mutate Try Sutrisno's son, Lt. Gen. Kunto Arief Wibowo, is considered political. This assumption arose because the moment was close to the pressure to impeach Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice president.

The pressure to impeach Gibran was conveyed by the Purnawiran Forum involving Kunto's father, namely General (Ret.) Try Sutrisno. The Vice President for the 1993-1998 period signed a statement of attitude containing eight political demands.

"The mutation experienced by Try Sutrisno's son, Lt. Gen. Kunto, is political," said Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) Dedi Kurnia Syah when contacted, Friday, May 2.

This mutation, continued Dedi, also seems based on emotional and unprofessional feelings. The war of influence was also felt between President Prabowo Subianto and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"In fact, Prabowo's own response is not reactive considering the pressure as an aspiration that deserves to be heard. This means that this mutation decision is emotional and not professionally based," he said.

"So that the TNI Commander deserves to be criticized so that his position is maintained proportionally and is not influenced by political nuances," continued this observer.

In addition to criticism, Dedy also assessed that the refreshment among the elite military needed to be carried out by President Prabowo. "Don't let the tools of power participate in politics either affect or be influenced," he said.

As previously reported, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto rotated, rotated, and promoted 237 high-ranking officers (pati) from three TNI dimensions. One of them is Lt. Gen. Kunto Arief Wibowo, who originally served as Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Pangkogabwilhan) I, became the Special Staff of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD).

The mutation of Lt. Gen. Kunto, who is the son of the 6th Indonesian vice president Try Sutrisno, is based on the Decree (SK) of the TNI Commander Number Kep/554/IV/2025.

Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Brigadier General Kristomei explained that mutations and rotation of positions are normal because they are part of personnel development as well as to answer the challenges of tasks that continue to grow.

"This mutation is part of the personnel development system as well as the organization's need to answer the challenges of the tasks that continue to grow," said Brigadier General Kristomei as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 30.
