WSVI 2025: Garuda Jakarta Volleyball Team Loses To Thai Team
JAKARTA - The Jakarta men's volleyball team Garuda lost 0-3 (19-25, 21-25, and 14-25), against Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima in 2025 4th Taichung Win+ Streak Volleyball Invitational Tournament or Win+ Streak VIT (WSVI) 2025, in Taiwan, Thursday.
In a written statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Thursday, the team, which is inhabited by members of the Indonesian U-21 national team (timnas), must acknowledge the superiority of the senior team from the White Elephant Country, which impressed.
"For mentality, there has actually been an increase from yesterday even though senior players who happen to win the Thai League," said Assistant Coach Nur Widayanto after the match.
He explained that his team's game was better when they lost 0-3 to the Korean team, in the first match ago.
Even so, he admitted that his players made a lot of mistakes on their own, so that they could be used optimally by opponents to gain points.
"Especially in terms of service and acceptance of the first ball, especially during the third set," he said.
In the inaugural match, the men's volleyball team was also forced to suffer defeat.
They lost by a score of 0-3 (17-25, 19-25, and 18-25) to the Korean team, Armed Forces Athletic Corps.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Garuda is in Group B with a Thai club, Nakhon Ratchasima and the home team Win+Streak from Taiwan.
Although Jakarta Garuda is strengthened by young players, the coaching team is not afraid to face opponents who are mostly inhabited by senior players.
Jakarta Garuda's participation in the VIT tournament is part of a series of preparations for the U-21 World Championship which will take place in China, in August.
The international tournament is considered an important opportunity to increase flight hours and international experience for young players.
