Threads Reaches 350 Million Monthly Users, Pockets 30 Million New Users In Three Months

JAKARTA Within three months, Threads managed to collect 30 million new users. As of the end of April, the Meta platform, which is integrated with Instagram, now has more than 350 million active users.

Threads' latest user data was revealed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday, April 30. In this year's first-quarter earnings report, Zuckerberg stressed that Threads had increased significantly.

Unfortunately, when compared to X, Threads is still very far behind. Elon Musk's microblog platform has 600 million active monthly users today. This statement was made by CEO X Linda Yaccarino on the same day as Threads' earnings report.

Although the number of users is not as large as X, Threads is able to compete with other microblogging platforms, including Bluesky. For information, the number of new users of Threads in the first quarter of 2025 is equivalent to the total active users in Bluesky.

For Zuckerberg, this increase was driven by the increasingly strengthened Meta ecosystem. The reason is, it's not only the number of Threads users who are increasing, but also WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, to Messenger.

Overall, Zuckerberg says that more than 3.4 billion people use at least one Meta app every day, be it Instagram or even WhatsApp.

With 'growth on the right track', Zuckerberg believes that Threads can be the next major Meta social app. Therefore, the company is actively launching new Threads features.
