ITB Admits One Student Was Involved In The 2025 UTBK Match
BANDUNG - Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) admits that one active student with the initials LVN is suspected of being involved in the practice of making a Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) 2025.
ITB Director of Communication and Public Relations Dr. N Nurlaela Arief said this in response to the official statement of the 2025 UTBK National Student Admission Committee (SNPMB) regarding LVN.
"In the press conference, it was stated that LVN was involved in the practice of jockeying at a number of centers for the implementation of UTBK. ITB confirmed that the person concerned was indeed an active ITB student," said Nurlaela as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 1.
ITB, which confirmed LVN's student status, also revealed that the incident did not occur at the ITB UTBK center.
"ITB deeply regrets that this was done by a student who should uphold academic ethics. For this reason, we immediately take steps to enforce academic and student rules," he said.
As a form of institutional responsibility for the alleged involvement of the ITB student, said Nurlaela, ITB has formed an Academic and Student Student Violation Commission to follow up on the examination of this case.
This commission will be tasked with examining alleged violations committed by the person concerned.
"If proven then the Commission will recommend sanctions in accordance with the provisions," he said.
Regarding the alleged criminal act by LVN, according to him, his party handed over the handling to the police.
"ITB is committed to upholding the values of honesty, integrity, academic responsibility, and always trying to maintain public trust and encourage the creation of an academic culture that is honest, clean, and ethical," he said.
Previously, in a press conference held on Tuesday (29/4), the SNPMB Committee Responsible Team chaired by Eduart Wok conveyed surprising findings that around 50 participants were indicated to have committed fraud, including 10 people suspected of acting as jockeys.
The @fauzananalrasyid account uploaded an official copy of the SNPMB committee while writing that the photo on the participant card had been edited with AI technology, and mentioned the names of the suspected jockeys.

"The jockeys found according to @snpmb_id, the photo was edited with AI. The jockey's name is listed on the copy below," wrote the account.
One of the most striking findings occurred at the center of UTBK ISBI Bandung, where the committee detected four participating cards featuring similar faces but using different identities.
From the results of the initial investigation, the real name of the jockeys used in the four cards was revealed as Lukas Valentino Nainggolan who was suspected of being a jockey for four prospective students at once.
He is listed as an active student of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from the 2018 Electronic Engineering Study Program.
What is more worrying is that this fraud is not carried out by just one person. Two other names also appear as suspected jockeys, namely Healthy Febriana Jessica and Khamila Djibran, who are class 2018 and have graduated from ITB.
Healthy comes from the Petroleum Engineering Study Program and has graduated in 2022, while Khamila from Mining Engineering graduated in 2023.
The three of them are suspected of being involved in the practice of cross-provincial jockeys, utilizing AI-based facial editing technology to disguise their identity on the test card.
