Police Secure 30 People Involved In Thugs In Tangerang
TANGERANG - As many as 30 people suspected of being involved in acts of thuggery and illegal levies were arrested by the police.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Police, Kompol Arief N. Yusuf, said that of the dozens of thugs who were arrested, 8 of them had been detained.
Meanwhile, the rest involved in this crime of thuggery have been periodically trained as an effort to provide a deterrent effect.
"We have secured a total of 30 people from several areas, two people have been detained in connection with a thuggery case involving a depth collector in the Pasar Kemis Police area," said Arief in his statement, Thursday, May 1.
"While six other people were detained in connection with the beatings and vandalism in the Cikupa Police Area," he continued.
He also explained the reason for this eradication of thuggery and extortion activities. Because they are considered to have disturbed residents, especially the jurisdiction of the Tangerang Police.
"This effort was carried out as a follow-up to the order of the Banten Police Chief Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto to eradicate all thuggery and extortion. And we will continue to take firm action against anyone involved in acts of thuggery or extortion," said Arief.
