President Launches 10,440 School Renovation Program To Teacher Assistance During Hardiknas

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto will launch one of the priority programs, namely the construction and renovation of 10,440 schools to various assistance for teachers during the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) which falls on Friday, May 2.

Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti explained the plan after he attended a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 30.

"In the context of the National Education Day, the President's priority program is launching, the first is for launching school development. We plan to build 10,440 schools this year," said the Minister of Education and Culture as reported by ANTARA.

Mu'ti detailed that the declaration of school development and renovation is targeted to target up to 10,440 schools by the end of 2025 with a total budget of around Rp. 16.9 trillion.

In addition to launching school development and renovation programs, the President will also launch a direct transfer of assistance for honorary teachers of IDR 300 thousand per month.

Then, the President also provided educational funds for teachers who had not completed their Bachelor-level education or equivalent to D4 of Rp. 3 million per semester.

"Later, the figure will be conveyed by the President at the launch in Bogor, God willing, on Friday, May 2 at noon, at the time of the National Education Day," said Mu'ti.

The declaration of the construction and renovation of schools to assistance for teachers will be announced by President Prabowo at an elementary school located in Bogor Regency which is adjacent to Prabowo's residence in Hambalang.

"In the morning, Mr. President, there may also be another agenda, then in the afternoon he will launch the program in the context of National Education Day at an elementary school in Bogor, close to Hambalang," said Mu'ti.
