14-Year-Old Child Steals Calya Car From The Gateway Bandung Apartment Taken Away To Cianjur
Bandung City Police (Polrestabes) arrested a 14-year-old boy who was desperate to steal a Toyota Calya car with his 10-year-old brother at the Gateway Apartment, Gunung Batu, Bandung City.
Cicendo Police Chief Kompol Dadang Gunawan said the incident occurred on Wednesday (23/4), after a resident reported losing his vehicle while heating the car.
"From the development of checking the crime scene (TKP) with some witness assistance as well as from CCTV assistance, we can see that the perpetrator is a child," Dadang said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 30.
Dadang explained that in the CCTV footage, the car was seen being taken out of the apartment area towards outside the city.
Investigators then carried out developments and succeeded in securing the two children in the Ciranjang area, Cianjur Regency.
"So at that time investigators developed to Cianjur and succeeded in pursuing and arresting the two perpetrators of these children who were dealing with legal problems," he said.
After being secured at the Cicendo Police, the two children were examined and called by their parents. Because they are still minors, both of them were handed back to their parents under strict supervision.
"So it is still very vulnerable because it is still a child, so we return it to his parents to help with the same supervision in the ongoing investigation process," said Dadang.
Dadang said the victim decided to withdraw the report and forgive the two children for considering the age of the perpetrators who were still very young and the condition of their underprivileged families.
"Because this perpetrator is still in the category of children and his parents are still said to be unable, so there is good intentions from this victim to forgive," he said.
