31 Children Become Victims Of Jepara Sex Predators, The Mode Of Throwing Seduction Through Social Media

JAKARTA - Central Java Regional Police (Polda) investigators revealed that at least 31 minors were victims of a sex predator crime with the initials "S" from Sendang Village, Kalinyamatan District, Jepara Regency.

"Previously, we mentioned that there were 21 victims of the findings on the suspect's cellphone (mobile phone), but the latest developments were 31 minors who had become victims of the sexual predator crime," said Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Central Java Police, Police Commissioner Dwi Subagio, when met after the search of the suspect's house in Sendang Village, Kalinyamatan District, Jepara Regency, Wednesday, April 30, was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the number of victims could still change if they saw the evidence obtained by the police from the suspect's house. Some victims of sexual predators came from East Java, Semarang, Lampung, and most of them were from Jepara Regency.

In fact, the perpetrator admitted that several documents had been deleted so that the Central Java Police would also use forensic laboratory tests to reopen the deleted data to determine the number of victims.

The victims of the sexual predator crime are estimated to be between 12 and 17 years old. While the last victim is still in the XI High School class.

Regarding the modus operandi of the perpetrator to persuade his victim, Subagio said investigations were being carried out. Even though in carrying out the action, the perpetrator used social media (social media) and persuaded the victim to take off the clothes worn.

"If you don't want to obey, the video recorded by the perpetrator will be distributed so that the victim is afraid. In fact, there were more than 10 victims who had meetings and ended up having sex," he said.

He admitted that he was not comfortable in actually revealing the number of victims of the crime of sex predators from Jepara. However, this case also needs to be conveyed because it is in the interests of all communities, especially parents who have girls to control their behavior in using social media, such as Telegram and WhatsApp.

"The perpetrator in carrying out the action used Telegram and followed up with WhatsApp," he said.

In carrying out the action, the perpetrator recorded the victim so that an investigation would be carried out to find out each of the victims.

"This perpetrator is a sex predator and the victims are our own children. I also don't want our child to be traumatized and become a victim of bullying by his friend. Some even want to commit suicide," he said.

Subagio added that the perpetrator's crime had been going on since September 2024. The disclosure of the case began with the damage to the cellphone of one of the victims, which was then repaired at the cellphone service by the victim's father.

After the cellphone was repaired and turned on, the victim's father found out that his son's smartphone was stored in the data on the sexual crime case and then reported it to the police.

For his actions, the perpetrator of child sexual crimes was charged with the Pornography Law which carries a sentence of up to 12 years in prison, as well as the Child Protection Act, as well as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE).
