New Variant To Mafia Quarantine, State Reminded Not To Weak In Handling COVID-19
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR Kurniasih Mufidayati highlighted the loose handling of COVID-19 control lately. Optimal handling is important following the entry of the new corona virus from India.
"The government must keep abreast of developments in other countries and anticipate them in our country. Don't be weak," said Mufida to VOI at the DPR building, Thursday, April 29.
In addition, the government must ensure that the community also increases immunity. One of them is the COVID-19 vaccination.
"Because the key is there, in order to avoid transmission of the virus. If there is a vaccine, even though it is not yet able to deal with new variants, at least the same kind of corona is already protected," explained the PKS politician.
Most importantly, he continued, the government is obliged to limit foreign citizens (WNA), especially from countries experiencing a spike in COVID-19.
"One thing that must be taken into account and reviewed, is limited, so that it is even more stringent. Except for those who have diplomatic relations, screening must be done by quarantine and detection of PCR results from an accredited institution in their country," said Mufida stressed.
Regarding the existence of a quarantine mafia that has passed Indonesian citizens from India, Mufida considered this to be very inhuman. Because, it can endanger the Indonesian people who are struggling to control COVID-19.
"That is one thing in the midst of a pandemic that is very inhumane. Mafia cases like that must be dealt with firmly," said Mufida.
He appealed to all related parties to increase awareness and take responsibility for this incident.
"This is something the government has missed and must be tightened again," said Mufida.
