East Jakarta BM Sub-Department Bans Utilities Operators From Installing Air Cables,
East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-Department has banned a number of utility operators related to the installation of air optical cables throughout East Jakarta.
The ban was pronounced by the Head of the East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept. Benhard Hutajulu during the cutting of the same chaotic aerial cable in the Lubang Buaya area, Cipayung, East Jakarta.
"Bina Marga has not issued any more permits regarding the installation of aerial cables in East Jakarta," Benhard told reporters, Tuesday, April 29.
Benhard said that later there would be no more utility operators installing cables in the air. Everything must be in the ground.
"On average, the operators attach a cable in the air, it's an old activity. Now Bina Marga no longer allows the installation of aerial cables," he said.

According to him, the installation of aerial cables was carried out in a hole with a depth of 1.2 to 1.5 meters in the ground.
"We urge operators not to put the cables in the U-ditch, (because) it interferes with the flow of water. We have reminded them to cut it," he said.
Benhard admitted that in almost all areas of East Jakarta there are still many utility cables in the air. His party will gradually cut the aerial cables until they are sterile.
"All areas have (air cables), we just make gradual arrangements," he said.
