Kim Soo Hyun Sued 2 Brand Ads For Controversy, Compensation Reaches IDR 35 Billion
JAKARTA - Kim Soo Hyun was sued by two advertising companies after a controversy related to his name. These two companies filed compensation for the actor and his agency, Gold Medalist, reaching 3 billion Won, equivalent to Rp35.04 billion.
Launching YTN, the two companies whose identities were not disclosed asked for compensation and refunds that had been made to the actor. The two companies also terminated their advertising contracts after Kim Soo Hyun's controversy.
Reportedly, several brands will sue Kim Soo Hyun considering that until now, he has ad contracts with 15 brands.
"Usually, companies are reluctant to show that they are the first parties to file a lawsuit (to the model) but after one company submits, usually some others will follow," a lawyer said explaining the concept.
