LPDUK And Cooperation Perbasi Encourage Basketball Industry Transformation

The Ministry of Youth and Sports's Institute for Fund Management and Sports (LPDUK) has officially collaborated with the Central Representative Council of the Indonesian Basketball Association (DPP Perbasi) to encourage the national basketball industry.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Understanding was carried out between the two parties at the Media Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Director of LPDUK Kemenpora-Inaspro, Ferry Kono, and the General Chair of the Perbasi DPP, Budisatrio Djiwandono. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, was also present to witness the signing.

"As the Head of the Perbasi DPP, I would like to thank the Menpora and LPDUK for their support and trust to support future basketball programs," Budisatrio told the media.

Through this collaboration, the LPDUK Kemenpora-Inaspro and DPP Perbasi are committed to managing funds and developing Indonesia's basketball business in a professional, transparent and accountable manner during the 2025-2028 period.

In addition, both parties will also accelerate the transformation of sports management based on good governance principles. This is in line with the Government's efforts to develop the sports industry as a motor for national creative economy growth.

Ferry Kono emphasized that the management of sports funds will later be directed to strengthen infrastructure, improve the quality of athletes, and open up new commercial opportunities that benefit both parties.

"This collaboration is a real step in building a more modern, independent, and sustainable basketball ecosystem in Indonesia," said Ferry in his remarks.

The scope of this collaboration includes the management of commercial funds, the implementation of national and international events, the development of sports businesses, to other supporting programs that are mutually agreed upon.

Later, all technical implementations will be stated in a separate cooperation agreement to ensure optimization of benefits for national basketball development.

"LPDUK is committed not only to support fund management, but also to be active in encouraging the development of sports businesses based on innovation, professionalism, and good governance principles," said Ferry.

Indonesian basketball in the future will face a number of solid agendas. One of the closest is the 2025 SEA Games which will take place in Thailand in December 2025.

In addition, Perbasi is also targeting the big target of the 3X3 Indonesian Basketball National Team (Timnas) to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. If it passes, it will be the first time Indonesian basketball has performed in the four-yearly event.
