Carlo Ancelotti Will Be Brazil's Coach For The Nearest World Cup Qualification Match

JAKARTA - The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) estimates Carlo Ancelotti will become coach of the national team on time to tackle two Conmebol Zone 2026 World Cup Qualification matches in June 2025.

The news was shared by ESPN journalists, Pedro Ivo Almeida and Victoria Leite, who interviewed a number of sources in Brazil.

While there has been no official agreement between Real Madrid Manager Ancelotti and Brazil, discussions in recent days have resulted in optimism that the 65-year-old coach will accept the job.

The source further added that Ancelotti had informed CBF that they could start planning his arrival.

CBF estimates Ancelotti will be in Rio de Janeiro on May 26, 2025, two days after Real Madrid's last match in the La Liga season.

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, ESPN reported that Ancelotti, whose contract with the La Liga giants runs until June 2026, will hold talks with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez to reach an agreement to leave the club at the end of the season.

Although Ancelotti is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Los Blancos- winning three Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles for two terms at the Santiago Bernabeu - the current season is disappointing.

Real Madrid lost to Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals and lost to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, Sunday, April 27, 2025, early morning WIB.

They are also now four points behind Barcelona in La Liga with five games remaining.

Meanwhile, Brazil has not had a coach since March 2025, when they sacked Dorival Junior after an embarrassing defeat to rival Conmebol, Argentina, in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Five-time World Cup champions, who are in fourth place in the Qualification table, will face Ecuador on June 4 and Paraguay on June 9, 2025.

If Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid on time for the Brazil games, it means Los Blancos need to find a new coach or appoint a temporary coach to oversee participation in this summer's Club World Cup.

"Will I continue (at Real Madrid) be a problem for the coming weeks, not for today," Ancelotti said after the defeat in the Copa del Rey final.
