The Deputy Minister Of Industry Ensures That The Mass Organization That Disrupts The BYD Factory Project In Subang Has Been Overcome

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has confirmed that the news of disturbances in the thuggery of community organizations or mass organizations at an automotive factory from China, BYD, in Subang, West Java, has now been resolved.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza when met by media crews at his office, Monday, April 28.

Faisol said that the disturbance of the mass organization had been directly resolved by the company.

According to him, his party has communicated with BYD and everything has been resolved.

"We have checked. Usually it (disruption of mass organizations), we hope it doesn't happen again. We have communicated and BYD stated that they can handle it," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani asked the government and authorities to resolve the problem of the BYD factory in Subang, West Java, which was disturbed by unscrupulous mass organizations. Muzani assessed that investment must be maintained properly.

"On the one hand, I think investment must be maintained not only by adequate regulations and carrying capacity. There are adequate regulations, there is adequate carrying capacity such as infrastructure. However, there are social conditions for the community that must also be conducive," said Muzani at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, quoted Friday, April 26.

"It's not enough for the community to be conducive, but it turns out that there are infrastructure problems that are damaged, thus disrupting access or transportation. Roads are damaged, the community is good, but government regulations are not parallel to the investment climate," he continued.

According to Muzani, government regulations and all supporters must be adequate. Therefore, he considered, the government and related authorities must immediately resolve this issue.

"Everything must be in accordance with the investment climate. If there are one or two of these things, of course, it must be resolved immediately, including by community forces in any name," he said.

The BYD factory in Indonesia is claimed to be the largest automotive factory in Southeast Asia.

Currently, the land area of the BYD factory is 108 hectares and has decided to develop and add new 126 hectares.

The plant is planned to start commercial production in early 2026, which will have a production capacity of 150,000 units per year, with a total investment value of around $1 billion.
