2 New KRL Trainsets From China Return To Landing In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Two new train sets or trainsets of Electric Rail Trains (KRL) imported from China have landed again in Indonesia. The train is a production of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC).
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus explained that these two KRL trainers are part of the contract for the procurement of new KRL facilities produced by CRRC. He also said that previously there had been three trainsets that had entered Indonesia.
"These two new KRL series are part of eight series of KRL from the contract for the procurement of the new second wave of KRL facilities, previously in the first procurement contract as many as three trainsets," he said in an official statement, Monday, April 28.
Joni said that KAI Commuter in total ordered 27 new KRL equipment or a total of 324 train units.
The total order for new KRL facilities by KAI Commuter consists of 16 trainsets from PT INKA (Persero) and 11 KRL bookings from CRRC, "he said.
Furthermore, Joni said that the arrival of all the new KRL facilities is one of KAI Commuter's efforts in optimizing services to the community, especially Jabodetabek Commuter Line users.
"In addition, it is also one of KAI Commuter's commitments to maintaining the safety and comfort of Commuter Line users," he said.
Currently, continued Joni, the new KRL facilities that have arrived are in the process of being thoroughly checked before an internal assessment is carried out by KAI Commuter.

Furthermore, a dynamical test will be carried out on the Jabodetabek route in accordance with Permenhub Number PM 49 of 2023 concerning Standards, Testing Procedures, and Certification of Normal Speed Train Feasibility by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.
In the future, continued Joni, all the new KRL facilities will be used as a substitute for KAI Commuter's KRL facilities which will enter a period of conservation.
KAI Commuter also hopes that this procurement can meet the needs of KRL facilities for Commuter Line services. For the record, currently the average volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users reaches more than 1 million people every working day," he said.
