Beat CapCut, Instagram Edits App Reaches 7 Million Downloads In The First Week

JAKARTA Instagram's Edits application debut turned out to be more horrendous than CapCut when it was first released. This can be seen from the large number of Edits downloads within a week.

In the first two days, Edits was downloaded about 702,900 times on iOS devices. The number of downloads is 37 times more than the number CapCut got, according to data shared by Appfigures. Within three days, the number of downloads also increased drastically.

Edits is downloaded 1.2 million times on iOS and the number of downloads is much higher on Android devices, which is about 5.9 million times. In total, this Reels video editing application was downloaded 7.1 million times in just three days.

As a fair comparison, CapCut was only downloaded 83.5 thousand times in the first three days on iOS and Android. For more specific comparisons, Edits was downloaded 381 thousand times in the first three days in the US.

Meanwhile, CapCut's number of downloads was only 3,400 times in the country's first three days. That way, it is proven that the launch of the Edits app is much more horrendous than CapCut, ByteDance's Chinese app.

Edits managed to rank first on the US iPhone App Store, including the Top Application as a whole. However, this rating only lasted a while because Edits was in second place on the second and third on the fourth day.

However, the rating is still higher than CapCut until now. This popularity makes quite sense because Edits has been promised to be released since last January. Plus, the party that developed this application is Instagram, one of the popular social media platforms.

Unlike CapCut, which takes a long time to attract many users. The number of app downloads was indeed low at debut, but now, CapCut has been downloaded 1.22 billion times on Android and iOS.

This device is highly relied on by TikTok users. That way, Edits still has a lot of work to do to pursue and beat CapCut's popularity. If developed properly, Instagram will probably beat the integrated app with TikTok.
