Minister Of Transportation: Progress Car Terminal And Container At Patimban Port Runs Smoothly

The Minister of Transportation ensured that the progress of the Patimban Subang Port development in West Java phase I-2 which includes a car terminal (packet 5) and a container terminal (packet 6) went smoothly and according to planning.

"Broadly speaking, the progress of the construction of car terminals and container terminals at Patimban Port has been going well," said Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi as quoted in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 28.

The Minister of Transportation said that he had directly reviewed the car terminal and container terminal development project at Patimban Port, Subang Regency, West Java.

"I hope that the work can be completed on time so that it can increase capacity at the port and most importantly, be able to increase logistics competitiveness nationally," said the Minister of Transportation.

He explained that until now the progress of car terminal construction has reached 78.90 percent, targeted to be completed on October 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, the progress of the terminal container construction has reached 73.87 percent, targeted to be completed by November 3, 2025.

The construction of the 5 package car terminal is a continuation of the development of the terminal area of package 1 vehicles which are currently operating.

The construction of the vehicle dock package 5, the terminal capacity of the vehicle will increase from 218,000 completely build up (CBU) to 600,000 CBU.

"The capacity of the container terminal will increase from 250,000 TEUs to 1.9 million TEUs," he explained.

Dudy added that vehicle export-import activities at Patimban Port have shown quite good development from year to year.

The largest export destinations of vehicles are in a number of countries such as the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and Japan, while the largest vehicle importing countries are Japan, Malaysia, China, and Thailand.

According to him, the presence of Patimban Port is an effort by the government to balance logistics flows between western, central and eastern parts of Indonesia. This is important to encourage the realization of equitable development and the economy in the country.

"In addition, the presence of this port is also a node for automotive export-import activities from a number of industrial areas in the West Java region," he said.

The Minister of Transportation invited business people to participate and carry out business activities at Patimban Port.

The success of development policies carried out by the government will not be achieved without the role and support of business actors.

"Hopefully Patimban Port can trigger business potential in West Java and its surroundings," said the Minister of Transportation.
