BNPB Encourages Every Region To Have A Disaster Risk Reduction Forum
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) encourages each region to form a Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB) as a strategic pillar in strengthening coordination, increasing capacity and building a culture of awareness of risks in the community.
"The PRB Forum plays an important role in disaster management. However, until now not all regions have this pentahelical forum. BNPB continues to encourage the formation of collaborations that need to be accommodated by a regulation," said Deputy for Prevention of BNPB Prasinta Dewi in organizing the 2025 Disaster Preparedness Day (HKB) held at Graha Bakti Praja NTB Governor's Office in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 27.
Prasinta Dewi revealed that the PRB Forum is the main foundation in building the nation's resilience. Therefore, the PRB Forum is very important as a forum for the collaboration of various stakeholders.
"This PRB Forum is a strategic pillar in strengthening coordination, increasing capacity and building a culture of awareness of risks in the community," he said.
He explained that currently BNPB is holding a public test of the BNPB Regulation (Perban) draft. This Banking is expected to become a legal basis so that the implementation of the PRB Forum can run both in the formation and management at the national and regional levels, both at the provincial, district/city levels and administrative areas below it.
Prasinta added that this Perbangan can ensure the sustainability of forums in an inclusive, participatory and sustainable manner, as well as increase the effectiveness of the PRB Forum in providing policy recommendations, advocacy, and innovations in PRB.
However, continued Prasinta, the process of drafting this Perban plan certainly cannot be done unilaterally.
"The public test that we carry out is a participatory space for all parties to provide constructive input, criticism, and necessary improvements," said Prasinta.
Prasinta reminded that future disaster challenges are increasingly complex, both due to climate change factors, environmental degradation, and rapid urbanization. Therefore, adaptive, responsive, and collaborative forums are absolute needs.
Meanwhile, the Director of Preparedness for BNPB Pangarso Suryotomo said, BNPB hopes that this Banking plan can be ratified this year. Pangarso said that the PRB Forum has been initiated in the regions but there are no fixed standards and guidelines. As this time goes on, it is necessary to have regulations.
Of course, he hopes that this Perban can be applied in the regions.

"The resulting tires can be accommodated at the regional level, for example related to the budget," said Pangarso.
During this public test, some important inputs provide a new perspective to accommodate future needs and challenges. The input will then be followed up by the formulating team for the final refinement.
