Kediri City Government Prepares Prevent Victim Equipment During "Flushing"

KEDIRI - The City Government of Kediri, East Java, has prepared various necessary equipment as a quick move to prevent victims when "flushing" is carried out at the Wlingi Dam and Lodoyo, Blitar Regency.

The Mayor of Kediri, Vinanda Prameswati, said that the conflicting had an impact on increasing the volume, discharge, and water riots of the Brantas River. This must also be watched out for by the public because when patching, people are usually enthusiastic about finding fish but do not pay attention to their safety.

"We urge the public to be vigilant. This is to avoid dangerous things. Anticipating this BPBD has prepared various necessary equipment," said Vinanda, ANTARA, Sunday, April 27.

He appealed to the public not to carry out activities around the Brantas River, as an effort to prevent unwanted things from happening.

He has also directly reviewed the readiness to face the patching carried out at the Wlingi Dam and Lodoyo, Blitar Regency. The Kediri City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has prepared a team and equipment during the patching.

The Head of BPBD Kediri City Joko Arianto explained about vulnerable points that must be watched out for because of the large number of people looking for fish in the location, namely around the Old Bridge, behind Ramayana, behind the Great Mosque, and around Semampir.

BPBD, he said, also alerted 12 personnel, consisting of the TNI, six personnel and a combination of PMI and Kediri City Baznas who would later comb vulnerable areas when the patching flow arrived in the Kediri City area.

"We have also appealed to the public and crossing service providers to stop activities if there is an increase in water discharge. We also provide posts here during the patching," he said.

Perum Jasa Tirta (PJT) I did a patching at the Wlingi and Lodoyo Dams, Blitar Regency, with the aim of reducing sedimentation so that the capacity was maximized.

This patching activity was carried out for one week, namely April 27, 2025 to May 3, 2025. In its realization, the floodgates at the Wlingi and Lodoyo Dams, Blitar Regency were opened and gradually so that the patching could be more optimal.
