Apple Vision Pro Lighter Version Expected To Launch Early 2026

JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly preparing a new version of the lighter Apple Vision Pro, with an estimated launch between the end of 2025 and early 2026. This news comes amid Apple's efforts to make its mainstay mixed reality headset more successful in the market.

According to a report from Mark Gurman in Bloomberg's "Power On" bulletin, Apple is working on two successors to Vision Pro. One of the models will be lighter and cheaper than the current model, while the other models will be the headset of the tethered directly connected to the Mac to offer maximum performance and response, with Mac handling the entire computing process.

Gurman revealed that the lighter model will most likely be the next product released, with a release schedule between the end of 2025 and the first half of 2026. However, there is still uncertainty regarding the position of this product whether it will be a replacement for Vision Pro, or present as a more affordable non-Pro model.

Rumors about the lighter Vision Pro have been circulating for a long time, and have resurfaced on April 16, 2025. At that time, it was stated that Apple was planning to replace the internal structure of the headset from aluminum to titanium, in order to make the device lighter and stronger. Even so, the outside of the headset is reportedly still going to use aluminum material.

In addition to material changes, the leak also claims that this new model will come with a color scheme that resembles the iPhone era 5 iPhone, which is a deep black color. It aims to provide a clear visual difference between the Pro and non-Pro models.

The name for this new version is still speculation. It's possible that Apple named it "Apple Vision" or "Apple Vision Air" to mark the differences from the more premium Vision Pro.

With this move, Apple hopes to expand the reach of Vision's market by offering lighter options, more convenient to use over the long term, and more pocket-friendly to consumers.
