Google Prepares IDR 84 Billion Grants To Fight Online Fraud In Asia Pacific
JAKARTA - Google is strengthening its commitment to eradicating online fraud in the Asia Pacific region by announcing various new initiatives at the 2025 Online Safety Dialogue event in Taiwan.
Pertama, Google melalui Google.org mengumumkan rencana mengabahkan dana sebesar 5 juta dolar AS atau sekitar Rp84 miliar, untuk seluruh negara seluruh kawasan di Asia Pacific, untuk memerangi penipuan online.
The investment includes $2 million given to Singaporean organizations to help people protect themselves from fraud and online threats, and $1 million in grants to Taiwanese nonprofits, to educate 100,000 people about the dangers of fraud.
Google did not explain in more detail regarding all grants to be given.
In addition, Google is also collaborating with Taiwan's Ministry of Digital Affairs to improve online security, which includes sharing information on fraud trends, encouraging international collaboration, developing fraud detection technology, and expanding educational programs.
