Mayor Of Medan Affirms, ASN Involved In Drugs Will Be Strictly Actioned
The Medan City Government shows its seriousness in eradicating drug abuse by affirming its commitment to ensuring that State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the city government is not involved in drug trafficking.
The Mayor of Medan, Rico Tri Putra Waas, revealed that decisive action would be taken against ASN who were proven to be involved in drug abuse.
"I will not hesitate to take action against ASN who are proven to be involved in drugs. According to existing regulations, they will receive strict sanctions," said Rico Waas in Medan, Sunday.
Since taking office, the Mayor of Medan is committed to making the city he leads free from drugs, including among government officials. He emphasized that ASN must set a good example in serving the community with excellent physical and mental conditions.

"If anyone tries to use drugs, I don't hesitate to remove him from his position," said Rico.
To support these prevention efforts, the city government will carry out routine urine tests on all employees. In addition, they will also strengthen collaboration with various parties, including the community, to fight drug abuse.
"Disciplination and commitment to the rules are the keys to creating a government that is clean and with integrity," he added.
Previously, the Mayor of Medan collaborated with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of North Sumatra Province to carry out urine tests on city government employees. This test was attended by all regional apparatus organizations, including the sub-district and village heads.
"I and the Regional Secretary also participated in this urine test, as proof of our commitment to realizing the City of Medan that is free from drugs," he explained.
If the urine test results show that employees are positive for using drugs, Rico Waas emphasized that they will receive sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations. All urine test results will be submitted to the Provincial BNN for further processing, and a complete report will be submitted to him immediately.
