Bekasi Regency Government Successfully Recorded Financial Efficiency Of IDR 127 Billion
JAKARTA - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java recorded a financial efficiency result of Rp127 billion as a concrete measure of savings in the midst of an imbalance between income and regional spending.
Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang stated that regional finances remain stable thanks to budget efficiency which is also a direct instruction from President Prabowo Subianto so that public services and sustainable development can continue to be optimized.
"It is important for local governments to make savings to ensure sufficient budget availability, but once we also ensure that development continues, programs to the community will also continue," he said in Cikarang, quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 27.
He said regional financial efficiency was carried out by cutting a number of non-mandatory or non-mandatory budget posts such as official travel costs, activities at hotels, meetings and consumption of eating and drinking.
The budget efficiency policy is contained in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025 related to spending efficiency in the implementation of the APBN and APBD with the provision that it requires implementation for all local governments.
He also denied the discourse regarding the local government's plan to apply for a loan to the bank to stabilize finances due to the threat of a budget deficit this year.
"Yes, the proof is that until now we have not submitted, everything is still running normally as usual," he said.
Head of the Bekasi Regency Regional Financial Management Agency, Hudaya, stated that the current financial condition requires local governments to focus on priority-scale activities.
He also ensured that the availability of a budget for mandatory needs such as PPPK salaries next month is still in a safe stage. Currently, regional treasury is recorded at Rp70 billion. This amount will continue to increase as revenue from regional taxes and levies.
