Relaku Pengagih Debt Resah Warga, Dilaporkan Dan Ditangkap Polisi Langsung Diam

JAKARTA - The Cengkareng Police have arrested four debt collectors on Jalan Daan Mogot Raya towards Grogol and Tangerang who are considered disturbing residents.

The Head of the Cengkareng Police, West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Abdul Jana in an official statement in Jakarta, Saturday said the arrest was a follow-up to public complaints through the West Jakarta Metro Police social media because the existence of debt collectors was troubling the residents.

"We have secured four debt collectors. Next, we will collect data and guidance at the Cengkareng Police," said Jana.

According to him, this step is a form of the police's quick response to complaints from residents as well as efforts to maintain public order in the West Jakarta area.

As for the behavior of debt collectors, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in January reported that it had received 1,672 complaints indicating violations related to the behavior of billing officers.

The data was obtained based on OJK consumer service data with complaints of violations of behavior of collection officers most of which occurred in online loan services (pindar) as many as 1,106 complaints.

OJK stated that the credit and financing collection mechanism has been regulated in OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 22 of 2023 concerning the Protection of Consumers and the Community in the Financial Services Sector.
