Spanish MotoGP 2025: Quartararo Pole Position, Stop Domination Marc Marquez

JAKARTA Fabio Quartararo has claimed the 2025 Spanish MotoGP pole position to break the dominance of Marc Marquez who managed to pole in all four races before.

The Monster Energy Yamah MotoGP Team racer will start the race from the front position after setting a record for a new lap of 1 minute 35.610 seconds at the Jerez Circuit on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

This is the first time this season starting from the leading position not occupied by six-time world champion Marc Marquez, who currently sits at the top of the standings.

Quartararo outperforms Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) who occupies the second grid start, ahead of teammate Francesco Bagnaia in third and his younger brother Alex Marquez in fourth place.

Alex previously managed to appear fierce and became the fastest in Free Practice 1. He also managed to break the lap record of all time there before being shifted by Quartararo.

The pole position at Jerez is the first for Quartararo since the first edition of the Mandalika Grand Prix in 2022, a season that Francesco Bagnaia won.

Filling fifth place in the race at Jerez is Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team). He was followed by Maverick Vinales in sixth position.

Rookie Fermin Aldeguer (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) will start from seventh, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), and Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol).

Meanwhile, filling tenth position was Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR).

The Spanish MotoGP Sprint race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 26 tonight starting at 20.00 WIB.
