Adonara Sambut Menbud Fadli Zon With Sole Oha Tradition

LARANTUKA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon welcomes efforts to preserve the culture and traditions of Adonara, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), as an important part of Indonesia's national wealth. He conveyed this appreciation, Friday (25/4) while continuing his working visit in Larantuka.

Arriving at the East Flores Regent's Office, Menbud Fadli Zon was greeted by Regent Antonius Doni Dihen with the Deputy Governor of NTT, Dohni Asadoma, the ranks of regents, sub-district heads throughout Adonara, HIMPI, and the Head of Bank NTT. The Regent of East Flores expressed his pride for the arrival of the Minister of Culture, whom he had known since the time of activism.

The Deputy Governor of NTT emphasized that this visit was not just ceremonial, but carried a mission to encourage the progress of East Flores and Lembata. He hopes that the Minister of Education can directly convey community conditions and infrastructure to the President and Vice President.

In his remarks, Menbud Fadli Zon highlighted the need for a representative museum construction on Bumi Lamaholot. He emphasized that the government has provided the Eternal Cultural Fund (DAK) to encourage cultural conservation efforts. "The museum is a cultural storefront, the face of regional culture," said Menbud Fadli Zon in a written statement Saturday, April 26.

After the meeting, the Minister of Education continued his journey to Adonara Island, to be precise to Sukutokan Village, to witness Pentas Kolosal Sole Oha. In that village, Menbud Fadli Zon was greeted enthusiastically by the community through the traditional Hedung war dance and various traditional processions.

"This is a matter of pride. A tradition like this is the identity of a nation that must be maintained and introduced to the world," said Fadli Zon. He invited the public to take advantage of digital technology to introduce cultural wealth to the younger generation and the global community.

In his direction, Menbud Fadli also encouraged culture to be placed at the forefront of regional development. "Culture should not be stored behind. We must bring culture to the future as an relay for future generations," he said in front of around 300 residents of Sukutokan Village.

In the evening, Menbud Fadli discussed with residents about the development of the cultural community. He explained that the Eternal Cultural Fund can be used as a stimulus with collaboration between local governments and the private sector. "Protecting alone is not enough. Culture must be used to encourage creative economic growth," he said.

At the end, Menbud Fadli Zon joined the Sole Oha traditional dance at Lewo Werang Field. By holding hands and dancing together, Menbud together with residents expressed gratitude and respect for God and ancestors.

This visit confirms the Ministry of Culture's commitment to supporting the promotion of regional culture as part of the nation's strength.
