TNI Retired Forum Asks Prabowo Reshuffle, PPP: Better Focus On Overcoming Economic Problems

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Advisory Council of the PPP DPP Muhammad Romahurmuziy or Romy said his party respects the eight proposals put forward by the Retired Forum of TNI Soldiers, but currently Indonesia is better off focusing on overcoming economic problems.

"As a suggestion, we respect. However, this country is currently facing a world economic storm that is predicted by many people to be depressed, experiencing an economic slowdown, yes, a recession. How come we should focus on overcoming these problems," said Romy at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, April 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

He gave an example that currently there is a wave of layoffs (PHK).

As an entrepreneur, he admitted that he was trying to keep thousands of employees from working.

Romy also invited all parties to put aside differences and end the dispute, as well as provide full support to the government in dealing with collective problems that many countries in the world are also experiencing.

"Not to mention today we are faced with the tariff war that Trump has sounded. We have to unite. We don't think about it lightly," he said.

Previously, the Presidential Special Advisor for Politics and Security, Wiranto, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto respected the statement of the Retired Forum for TNI Soldiers which contained eight proposals.

Wiranto said that President Prabowo respects and understands various opinions that are considered very reasonable if they occur in society, but of course the President as head of government cannot spontaneously respond to the proposal that has been submitted openly, considering that there is legislative, executive, and judicial authority.

"There has been a lot of news that has emerged, so this is the attitude of the President, not disturbing, but respecting it. Because we understand that there are pros and cons. Differences in society are normal," said Wiranto when giving a press statement at the Presidential Office, Jakarta Presidential Palace, Thursday 24 April.

The statement of the Retired Forum for TNI Soldiers contains eight points of proposal, ranging from returning the 1945 Constitution as the basis for political and government law, to demanding a reshuffle of the minister.

President Prabowo, in the attitude conveyed through Wiranto, did not want the difference to destroy the national atmosphere which is currently facing many challenges.
