Baidu Launches Model AI Ernie 4.5 Turbo And Ernie X1 Turbo, Cheaper Than DeepSeeek

Baidu officially launched its flagship artificial intelligence (AI) model, Ernie, by presenting two new models, namely Ernie 4.5 Turbo and Ernie X1 Turbo.

Baidu CEO, Robin Li, the two more sophisticated AI models at the developer conference on Friday, April 25, which was held in Wuhan, China.

Ernie X1 Turbo and Ernie 4.5 Turbo are upgraded versions of Ernie X1 and 4.5, so they can provide faster and cheaper results.

Both models stand out because of their multimodal abilities, strong reasoning, and low cost.

In its announcement on X, the company said that the input and output prices for X1 Turbo ranged from 0.14 US dollars (Rp 2.3 thousand) per 1 million tokens and 0.55 US dollars (Rp 9.2 thousand) per 1 million tokens, lower by about 25 percent from DeepSek R1.

Ernie X1 is an in-depth model of reasoning, outperforming DeepSek R1 and the latest version of V3. With an advanced chain of thought and multimodal use capabilities and even more improved tools, it excels in the creation of literature, logical reasoning, and more," Baidu wrote in his post on X.

Ernie 4.5 Turbo is Baidu's flagship fundamental model, while the X1 series, which was launched in March, is the company's flagship reasoning model.

In the demonstrations demonstrated, the capabilities of these two new models include integration with Baidu cloud, increased memory capabilities, stronger reasoning, and less hallucinations.

With this launch, Baidu will continue to invest in artificial intelligence, data centers, and cloud infrastructure to advance our AI capabilities, as well as develop smarter and more sophisticated future generations models.
