JCI Closed Wednesday, Weakening 1.71 Percent To 4,625.91 Level

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed lower than the trading opening on Wednesday, April 15. JCI closed down 1.71 percent or 80.59 points to 4,625.91.

Closing the trade, there were 131 stocks stronger, 277 stocks weakened, and 129 stocks stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 9.95 billion shares and was transacted at Rp.6.97 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama said, the COVID-19 pandemic has provided a negative sentiment for global market performance, even the IMF is projecting a global economic recession this year.

"The Indonesian trade balance has a surplus of around US $ 740 million but it is still below the consensus expectation which is projected to be in the range of US $ 760 million-800 million," Nafan told VOI.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Borneo Olah Sarana Sukses Tbk (BOSS) which rose 34.78 percent to IDR93, PT Sejahtera Bintang Abadi Textile Tbk (SBAT) which gained 14.60 percent to IDR157 , and PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI) which strengthened 14.15 percent to Rp605.

While stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) which weakened 6.86 percent to Rp7,125, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) which fell 6.67 percent to IDR 840, and PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Syaria Tbk (BTPS) which fell 6.67 percent to IDR 2,380.
