IOS 19: AirPods' New Feature Now Can Be A Direct Translator When You Talk

JAKARTA - If you often interact with people from different language backgrounds, both in work and in everyday life, Apple presents a new feature that you deserve to look forward to on iOS 19: Live Translation through AirPods.

Since its first launch, AirPods have grown rapidly from just wireless earphones to being smart audio devices with features such as Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and even Hearing Aid Support on AirPods Pro 2.

Now, Apple is going a step further by adding a live translation feature, which makes AirPods more relevant in everyday life, especially for users who live in multilingual environments or often travel abroad.

Imagine you're talking to someone who uses Spanish. Your iPhone will automatically translate the conversation of the interlocutor into English (or your language), then convey the translation results directly to your ears via AirPods. Next, when you respond, the iPhone will translate your speech and play it in a language that is understood by the interlocutor.

In short, it's like having a personal translator in your pocket without the need to open an additional application or bother typing text.

Mark Gurman reports that several current AirPods models will most likely support this feature, although there is a possibility of exclusivity for AirPods Pro 3 which is equipped with the latest chip, H3.

For those of you who work in an international environment, often do business trips, or live in big cities with high language diversity, this feature has the potential to be very helpful. Not only smoothing out communication, but also building a better interculture connection.

This Live Translation feature adds to the reasons why many people choose to continue wearing AirPods throughout the day not only for entertainment, but also for supporting mobility and more efficient communication.
