Riza Patria Officially Becomes Deputy Governor Of DKI With The Inauguration Of Physical Distancing

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo appointed Ahmad Riza Patria as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta today. Riza's inauguration which was held at the Presidential Palace was somewhat special and different from the usual inaugurations. This is because all current activities must be carried out using physical distancing methods.

At 13.00 WIB, Riza stood in the middle of the Presidential Palace hall. He faced Jokowi, who was about to inaugurate himself at a distance of about 5 meters. A clergyman stands beside Riza about 2 meters away and holds the Koran as a condition for taking the oath of office.

Around Riza, several people were seen attending to witness the inauguration ceremony, by also implementing physical distancing. Among them are DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, DKI DPRD Chairman Prasetio Edi Marsudi, DKI Regional Secretary Saefullah, and wife Riza.

Riza wore a white and white uniform, the typical dress of the regional head who was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Everyone in the room was wearing cloth masks.

"By Allah I swear that I will fulfill my policy as deputy governor as well as possible and fairly, uphold the 1945 Constitution and carry out all laws and regulations in a straightforward manner and serve the people, homeland and the nation. , "said Riza following Jokowi's guidelines, Wednesday, April 15.

After that, Riza and Jokowi signed the minutes of alternating the inauguration of the deputy governor of DKI Jakarta. The national anthem of Indonesia Raya was played before the inauguration ceremony ended.

Another difference was felt by Riza after the inauguration was over. Usually, the inaugurated regional head receives a welcome in the form of a handshake or a hug from other officials. However, the congratulations Riza received were not made by physical contact and keeping a distance of about 1 meter.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said the inauguration ceremony for Riza as Deputy Governor of DKI was carried out following the protocol for handling COVID-19. The inauguration was carried out by requiring that there be distance, the room should not be too full, and the event was conducted in a short time.

"There are 30 guests, approximately. The ministers are only 4 to 6 people who we invite, then the people who are inaugurated and their families. All guests have their body temperature checked and rapid test checks," said Heru.

Riza is ready to help Anies

After the inauguration ceremony, Riza stated that she was ready to carry out her duties as Deputy Governor of DKI, as well as assisting the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in carrying out the vision and mission and programs that had been announced.

"Hopefully my presence in DKI Jakarta can help the programs that have been set," said Riza.

One thing that will be Riza's focus at the beginning of her position is the handling of the COVID-19 outbreak in DKI. This is because the capital city is the province with the highest number of cases in Indonesia.

"Tomorrow, Mr. Anies will explain the programs that will be implemented. I have also met the Governor, explained the situation and conditions related to the corona virus that has spread. Hopefully we can handle the corona virus well," said Riza.

Today, Riza went straight to the City Hall of DKI to see what would be her workplace for the next year and a half. Riza toured the DKI City Hall accompanied by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional Head and Foreign Cooperation Bureau, Muhammad Mawardi.
