Touch Of Art Work For Children Of Kronis Disease Fighters

JAKARTA - In the midst of various health challenges faced by children in Indonesia, works of art are present as a "pelipur lara" as well as a source of hope.

Art is not just an aesthetic expression, but also a healing medium that can strengthen the mentality and emotions of children who are struggling with disease. Through creative works, we are able to channel love, the spirit of life, and hope for those who need more support than just medicine, namely presence, attention, and affection.

With this spirit, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation (RMHC) in collaboration with the Museum of Toys (MoT) launched a collaborative art project titled Intellectual Property Bear4Love. This initiative is part of a fundraising effort to build the fourth RMHC shelter located in Kemanggisan, West Jakarta.

This halfway house will have 66 rooms capacity and is intended for children with chronic diseases and their families who are undergoing treatment at Harapan Kita Hospital, Harapan Kita Hospital, and Dharmais Cancer Hospital.

The idea of Bear4Love was born from an inspiring meeting between Win Satrya, the founder of the Museum of Toys, and the RMHC team at the Art Jakarta 2024 event. The meeting created a joint determination to create an artistic initiative that had a real impact on children who were undergoing the healing process.

Caroline Djajadiningrat, Chairman of the RMHC Foundation, explained that this collaboration departs from Pak Win's personal experience, who realizes the importance of the presence of close people in the child recovery process.

"The museum of Toys later created an iconic bear character named #Bear4Love, a symbol of affection, hope, and resilience. This character was developed into an art work with well-known artists such as Peter Rhian, Adriel Arizon, Indah Oei, and Chuans Lee," Caroline said at a press conference held in Jakarta, recently.

The artwork, which comes in the form of a bear statue with various touches of this 50 cm artist, will be an art expression medium at the Art Jakarta Gardens 2025 exhibition.

Not only that, but MoT also introduced a mini version of Bear4Love entitled Love, Hope, Joy, Smile', which appears in four bright colors and a size of 20 cm. This collection is designed as part of a fundraising mission, stressing that no matter how small the love is given, the impact could be enormous.

The artists and their works that were exhibited were like;

This artistic initiative for children of chronic disease fighters also received support from Artotel Gelora Senayan, Little Small Detail, and Liberty Society, all parties who believe in the power of love and art as a form of therapy. Through this initiative, RMHC hopes to continue to have a positive impact and assist every Indonesian child in their struggle for healing.
