Chicco Jerikho Challenged To Learn To Play A Biola In City War Films

JAKARTA Actor Chicco Jerikho has again shown his totality in exploring roles. This time, he had to learn violin musical instruments to play the character of a violin teacher in the City War Film.
Even though Chicco is used to playing guitar, Chicco admits playing violin is not an easy thing.
"Wow, it's really difficult (to play violin), it's really difficult. Because before I've never tried playing violin music, I can play guitar, but I've never held a violin like what," said Chicco Jerikho when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Monday, April 21.
To explore the character, Chicco underwent a workshop process for two months which was quite intensive. Not only studying violin, he also participated in various physical trainings to dialects.
"(Workshop playing violin) 2 months. It's quite intense. So in a day there are 3 workshops. Sometimes physical workshops, fighting, music, dialects. There are Minang and Dutch teachers. We were originally full Minang. There was a accent, Minang tone, but the Indonesian dialect was influenced by the Dutch," he continued.
As a form of seriousness, Chicco even brought home the violin used for training so he could get used to playing it every day.
"I brought the violin. It must belong to me. Because Isa is a violin teacher. He is good at playing the violin. I have to take the tool home and make it a habit of playing every day," said Chicco.

He admitted that he had to start from the bottom, including getting to know simple notes and getting his hands used to bending when holding the violin.
"From doremi, to PR violin. Because just hold on to the violin, you have to be really flexible. If it's stiff, the sound doesn't come out," he continued.
However, his hard work began to bear fruit. Chicco felt confident when she received appreciation from her closest people.
"I was PD when my wife and child heard playing the violin, I asked how it was good or not. They judged, because they were at home. It's enough time, it's already late," he concluded with a laugh.
