Bukit Raya Riau Police Chief Removed, Impact Of Beating Case On Police Headquarters Courtyard
PeKANBARU - Riau Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Herry Heryyawan, transferred or removed the Bukit Raya Sector Police Chief (Kapolsek), Pekanbaru City, Kompol Syafnil, related to cases of beatings and destruction by debt collectors at the police headquarters.
Inspector General of Police Herry in his statement said the mutation of the Bukit Raya Police Chief was a firm step taken as a form of thorough evaluation of the leadership, supervision, and response in handling the situation in his jurisdiction.
"This is also a strong warning that leaders at the police and ranks must ensure that their territory is safe, their personnel are disciplined, and able to answer public expectations," said Herry as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 22.
This mutation is not only part of routine rotation, but also reflects the institution's commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of public services. Every member of the National Police must understand that position is a mandate, and public trust must not be betrayed by negligence, omission, or inconsistency in acting.
According to him, the full attention to cases of alleged beatings that occurred in the courtyard of the Bukit Raya Police Headquarters proves that every violation of the law, either carried out by the general public or those that occur within the police institution, will be dealt with professionally, transparently, and indiscriminately.
"I emphasize that the Riau Police will not tolerate any form of disturbance to public order, including acts of thuggery under the guise of debt collectors. I instruct all ranks to increase vigilance, speed of action, and sensitivity to the security and security situation. Don't give even a bit of space to violations of the law, especially those that injure people's sense of justice," he said.
