Chairwoman of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani: After The Minister's Reshuffle, Make Sure All Employees Get THR
JAKARTA - Chairwoman of the Indonesian Parliament, Puan Maharani, hopes that the Indonesian Advanced Cabinet led by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, will focus more on working after a limited cabinet reshuffle, Wednesday, April 28.
"Today's inauguration of ministers ends political speculation, the massive reshuffle has not been proven. It is time for the ministers to focus on working", said Puan Maharani in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 29.
He said that the ranks of the Forward Indonesia Cabinet had many problems that had to be resolved, especially related to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic which had an impact on all aspects of people's lives.
"There are problems in sight, such as the re-increase in the number of COVID-19 transmissions. Be alert so that COVID-19 cases such as in India do not occur in Indonesia", she said.
In addition to tackling the pandemic, Puan asked the ministers to ensure the smooth, safe, and comfortable for the people before and during Eid Al-Fitr 1442 Hijrah.
"The rules for the prohibition of going home have been set and must be implemented. Ensure that all employees have the right to THR (holiday allowances), and think about how the economy in the villages can move despite the ban on homecoming", Puan warned.
President Joko Widodo on Wednesday afternoon inaugurated Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology; Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board.
The inauguration of the two officials marks a limited reshuffle of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period.
The reshuffle of the limited cabinet was carried out by the President after the merger of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education into one ministry. Not only that, but the Investment Coordinating Board is also the Ministry of Investment and the Investment Coordinating Board.
The government also established a separate National Research and Innovation Agency. President Jokowi on Wednesday also inaugurated the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences Laksana Tri Handoko.
