President Director Of BIJB: Kertajati Airport Ready To Serve 2025 Hajj Flights
JAKARTA - President Director (Managing Director) of PT Bandara Internasional West Java (BIJB) Muhammad Singgih confirmed that Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, is ready to serve 2025 Hajj flights with the departure of 28 prospective hajj groups from the surrounding area.
"For Hajj flights, we get 28 batches. We are ready now, because the implementation is the same as last year," said Singgih in Majalengka, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 21.
He said all supporting personnel and facilities at Kertajati Airport had been prepared according to the implementation of the Hajj service the previous year.
According to him, this readiness includes operational support at the departure terminal, coordination with the airline and Hajj authorities, as well as special services for elderly pilgrims.
"All of our personnel and facilities are ready to serve prospective pilgrims to perform their prayers in the Holy Land," he said.
In addition, Singgih also highlighted the smooth operation during the 2025 Eid homecoming flow, although there was a decrease in the number of passengers compared to the previous year.
"For this year's homecoming transportation, everything is also smooth. Indeed, compared to last year it went down," he said.
He explained that during the homecoming period, the number of passengers reached more than 12 thousand people, far above the daily average of only about 500 passengers.
Outside the Hajj and homecoming season, he said, Kertajati Airport continues to serve regular flights to several major cities in Indonesia and abroad.
He said the flight was served by two airlines, namely Super Air Jet for domestic routes and Scoot Airlines for international routes to Singapore.
"Now every day there are flights to Denpasar Bali and Balikpapan. Then twice a week to Singapore. We continue to strive so that the frequency and destination of flights increases from time to time," he said.

On the other hand, Singgih said that aircraft maintenance and repair facilities (maintenance, repair, and overhaul/MRO) at Kertajati Airport will begin construction in the second semester of this year.
PT BIJB has prepared 80 hectares of land to support the development of MRO facilities, as a long-term plan to make Kertajati the center of the aviation industry in West Java.
"For the activities of the MRO, we will start in the second semester of this year. It is hoped that it will become an active aerospace industrial center at Kertajati Airport," he said.
