Bluesky To Launch Blue Tick Icon For Large Account Verification
JAKARTA Bluesky continues to present new features to compete with X, a platform previously known as Twitter. Now, Bluesky is rumored to be adopting a blue tick feature.
Although users will see a blue tick on some accounts in the near future, Bluesky's approach to this feature is very different from what X did. The reason is, the platform does not take money from its blue tick verification.
Based on a TechCrunch report, an engineer at the alice.mosphere.at found a blue tick feature in the Bluesky application's GitHub repository. In the visible code base, this feature will only be used to verify important accounts.
This is a feature that users X misses. Previously, blue ticks were also used to verify important or famous accounts on Twitter. However, after Elon Musk took over Twitter, the blue tick function turned into a monetization tool.

In addition to verifying accounts that are considered important, Bluesky will also use a blue tick to label certain organizations as trusted verifiers. That way, the organization has the authority to issue a blue tick.
In a blog post titled Verification that leaked on April 18, this feature will be released on April 21. However, there is still a possibility that this feature will be launched a little late.
Once this feature is expanded, users can open their Bluesky app and see what big accounts have got a blue tick. To see who gave the verification, users can tap the blue tick icon on the profile page.
