Elina Svitolina Ends Dipiclik Title In France
JAKARTA Elina Svitolina ended her title fasting for almost two years by successfully lifting the WTA 250 trophy at the Capfinances Rouen Metropole Open 2025.
The first seed from Ukraine defeated third seed Olga Danilovic of Serbia 6-4 and 7-68) to win clay tournaments in France on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Svitolina only took less than two hours to beat her opponent, but had to save two sets of points in a tie break to have a chance to win at its fourth match point.
"It's not an easy final, but I'm very happy to be able to win all my games in two sets and play well. I'm happy with the start of the season," Svitolina was quoted as saying on the WTA website.

The victory saw the former world number three player extend the winning-loss record in the WTA single final to 18-4.
It was the 18th title in Svitolina's seventh career on clay, as well as the first since May 2023.
"I feel confident in my game, I believed in my game. Since the start of the tournament, some players played very well, but I remained calm and continued to struggle," said Svitolina.
The title before here was obtained by Svitolina in Strasbourg, which she achieved less than two months after returning from maternity leave.
After that, the 30-year-old only reached one final, when he was runner-up in Auckland in January 2024. At that time, he lost in a tight three-set battle against Coco Gauff.
