Iconic Batmobile From 1989 Batman Is Ready To Be Auctioned, Priced At IDR 3.7 Billion

JAKARTA The timeless car, namely Batmobile driven by Michael teleoon in the films Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), will soon look for a new owner through the prestigious auction Mecum Bellium next month. This iconic car is not just a replica, but an official licensed unit from Warner Brothers who is ready to be driven!

Launching CarBuzz, Monday, April 21, the Batmobile to be auctioned was built on an extended 1967 Chevrolet Impala chassis, producing impressive dimensions nearly 6 meters long or longer than the modern GMC Hummer EV.

Behind his long hood andishing the hidden 5.7 liter V8 engine combined with automatic transmission, drains power to the Kerkar Mickey Thompson L60-15 tire attached to a 15-inch rim.

Meanwhile, the glass fiber body is melted in the black color of the legam which is its trademark. The authentic touch is increasingly felt by the use of the original component of the Harrier fighter jet, including a nozzle that functions to produce bursts of fire like a real afterburner. Iconic details such as shear canopy, towering back-bat wing, and interior control panel (although some of its features may not work) look exactly like the car in the film. In fact, a unique shear windshield wiper is present, showing great attention to the detail that is rarely found in other Batmobile replicas.

More interestingly, Batmobile is the first unit of the official Warner Brothers licensed stunt car to be made for the stunt Six Flags performance across the United States. This replica was built by Chris Dixon and Steve Mank of Founded Kuney Motors, the duo who is also responsible for making cars for the Batman film. A placard that reads "We build for Bruce Wayne" installed behind the chair, complete with Dixon and Mank's signatures on the windshield header and dashboard panel.

Mecum Auctions will offer the 1989 Batmobile on Saturday, May 17, as part of the Kaltina auction which takes place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. In addition to the signature of the maker on the dashboard, the car is also equipped with a certificate of authenticity signed by Six Flags Great Adventure, which uses this Batmobile in their Batman Arena performance from 1992 to 1994.

For Batman fans and super rare car collectors, this Batmobilexidal can be owned with an estimated pre-auction price of between 220,000 and 260,000 US dollars (around IDR 3.7 billion to IDR 4.3 billion).
