Failed To Steal A Motorbike In Tebet, The Perpetrator Of Shooting The Victim Ran From The Pursuit

The viral video on social media shows the theft of a motorcycle on Jalan Gang Merpati IV, Menteng Dalam, Tebet, South Jakarta.

In the action, the perpetrator was caught on CCTV trying to steal a Honda Scoopy motorcycle. However, his action was caught by the owner of the motorbike until finally the residents shouted at him.

Tebet Police Chief, Kompol Murohih confirmed the incident. The incident occurred in Gang Merpati IV, Menteng Dalam, Tebet, South Jakarta, Sunday, April 20, in the morning.

"Currently an investigation is being carried out," said Murohil when confirmed, Sunday, April 20.

Murohih said that at the time of the incident the perpetrator failed to rob the victim's motorbike. Because the motorcycle owner had already caught him.

He explained that the incident began when the two perpetrators came to the scene. Then the two perpetrators divided their duties in smoothing out their actions.

When one of the perpetrators was carrying out the theft with the letter T key. The victim's wife caught the perpetrator, then he immediately shouted to wake up local residents.

"The victim's wife screamed. Yes, her husband did, (acted immediately to catch up. Well, it's more or less possible that between 30 meters the perpetrator wanted to run on a motorbike, now it turns out that the one who was riding was wearing a gun and shooting at the victim hit his hip," said Murohi.

Not only that, the perpetrator also shot at a resident's house. The goal is that no one chases him when he leaves the scene.

"Then the second perpetrator shot at the resident's house the second time," said Murohil.

After the incident, the victim was taken to Dr Cipto Mangukusumo Hospital (RSCM), Central Jakarta, for medical treatment.

"(The victim) is still in the ICU but the operation (and) has gone well, hopefully everything will run smoothly," said Murohil.

Currently members are investigating the case. A number of witnesses and CCTV have been examined.

"Witnesses of two people who have been questioned," he concluded.
