Gowes Bareng Route 400 JLNT Crossing Cyclists Criticized, Pramono: I Actually Don't Know

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he did not know about determining the route for his cycling activities with 400 cyclists on Saturday, April 19.

Initially, the SilaturahRide with Mas Pram event was planned to cross the Casablanca Nontol Flyover (JLNT). However, this was protested by the cyclist community. Pramono admitted that he was only invited to participate in the activity.

"So I actually don't know either, frankly. I'm a participant. Indeed, the bicycle community invited me to ride a bicycle, I didn't invite it. Maybe because the governor was an attraction, that was invited," Pramono told reporters, Thursday, April 17.

Due to the refusal to use JLNT Casablanca as a cycling route because it endangers the safety of cyclists, Pramono asked the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to change the route.

"If they really expect my presence, I ask that nothing be violated by a single road. So that the route is changed, not through the casabanca, but all roads that can be passed," explained Pramono.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the bicycle route with Pramono was changed after criticism from the cyclist community for endangering cyclists.

"We see that there are still people who do not fully agree in special cyclists using JLNT because they think this road is only for 4-wheeled motorized vehicles, so we decided to adjust the SilaturahRide track to Sudirman loop," explained Syafrin.

After the change, the bicycle route, which was held from 05.30 to 08.00 WIB, became the DKI Jakarta City Hall - the Horse Statue Roundabout Hl Roundabout Semanggi Interchange Senayan Roundabout Semanggi Intersection - Hl Roundabout (Loop Jalan Sudirman 3 times ) - Horse Statue Roundabout DKI Jakarta City Hall.

Syafrin continued, there will be a closure or diversion of traffic flow at the intersection that intersects with the route during the riding activity.

"Road users are advised to avoid these roads and be able to adjust the traffic arrangements set, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field and prioritize road safety," said Syafrin.
