After Being Used For Homecoming, Beware Of These Problems In Cars

JAKARTA A week after the Eid holiday ended, a number of vehicle owners began to feel the impact of long-distance homecoming trips. Various vehicle components, such as braking systems, cooling, tires, and suspensions, have the potential to experience problems due to the intensity of use during the holiday period.

It's no surprise that the number of users of Suzuki's official workshop service has increased by almost 10 percent compared to normal days. This increase was dominated by mild complaints that began to emerge after the car was used for long trips.

"Most of the consumers came not because the vehicle broke down, but because small symptoms began to appear, which, if not handled immediately, could develop into serious problems," said Rahadian Wishwadewa, Buana Trada Pulogadung's Prosperous Service Manager, as quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, April 17.

"We call it a reset. The car has arrived home, but the technical burden during the new trip has been felt later," he added.

Therefore, users should check vehicle components such as brakes, tires, air conditioning filters, and suspensions after traveling long distances.

Brakes are often forced to work extra when vehicles are used to travel long distances and through various road conditions.

Kampas and disks must continuously work in high intensity when vehicles go uphill or face traffic jams.

Such conditions could lead to assessing and cause an increase in excess temperature, which can lower the quality of brake oil.

In addition, long-distance travel makes the workload of vehicle engines increase.

Therefore, after the vehicle is used to travel long distances, the condition of the engine oil and brake oil should be checked to ensure the engine performance and the brake system remains prime.

Another component that requires inspection after the vehicle is used to travel long distances is the tire. Check the condition and durability of the tire for the safety and comfort of driving.

The components of the air conditioning system such as the evaporator, compressor, fan rope, and AC filter also need to be checked because during the long journey the cooling system is generally continuously used.

The suspension system is also recommended to be checked after the vehicle is used to cover long distances.

The appearance of an unnatural sound, the car feels less stable when driving, or the steering wheel problem may indicate a problem with the suspension system.

Suzuki runs full-time after-home Campaign services in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi for customers who need a thorough vehicle inspection after going home.

In the campaign, the company offered a Bundling Service Package worth IDR 900 thousand which includes engine oil replacement along with oil filters, spooring and wheel balancing, to engine tuning in its official workshops from April 15 to 30, 2025.

The service is provided for APV, Ignis, Ertiga, All New Ertiga, XL7, and Baleno model vehicles.

"Our technology is not just checking, they are reading traces of car travel," said Assistant Head of the PT Suzuki Indomobil Service Department Sales Hariadi.

"With special diagnosis equipment, we help ensure that the vehicle remains reliable, efficient, and ready to face daily routines again," he concluded.
