Indonesia Launches Indonesian Society Of Regenerative Medicine
JAKARTA - The Indonesian medical world is entering a new chapter by holding the first batch of certification programs in the field of regenerative medicine which is recognized internationally. This event was held by INASRM in collaboration with RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Jakarta Stem Cell Center (JSC) and in strategic collaboration with the American Board of Regenerative Medicine (ABRM).
This historic momentum was also marked by the graduation ceremony of the first batch of Diploma in the field of regenerative medicine. A total of 15 graduates from Indonesia have successfully completed training and certification from ABRM and received a Diploma title in the field of regenerative medicine.
This Diploma program is the result of cross-institutional cooperation between INASRM, RSPAD, the private sector, and ABRM. RSPAD as the caretaker hospital now has a mandate to guide private hospitals and clinics that provide stem cell therapy services, and provide training in the field of regenerative medicine in collaboration with ABRM. Jakarta Stemcell Center (JSC) is present as INASRM's secretariat partner and plays an active role in the success of the program.
The first Graduation was attended by Rozina Badal Munir, MD, MBBS, DABRM, FAARM as the Global Development Director of the American Society of Regenerative Medicine (ASRM), as well as dr. Sunarto, M.Kes. from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Its presence strengthens the legitimacy and support of cross-border regenerative medicine in Indonesia.
The series of events on April 17, 2025 also includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between INASRM and ABRM, which is an important foundation in sustainable education and standard medical personnel capability in the field of regenerative medicine.
"INASRM is here as a professional forum that bridges the development of medical science in order to develop regenerative medical services with the readiness of medical human resources in Indonesia," said Dr. Jonny, SpPD-KGH, MKes, MM, DCN, FISN, as Chair of INASRM, in Jakarta, Thursday, April 17.
We believe that the future of regenerative medicine requires a strong foundation, both in terms of competence and regulation. This is where the importance of internationally accredited certification for medical officers and service providers in the field of regenerative medicine continues.
INASRM itself is an organization that plays a role in forming ethical, competency, and career development standards for medical workers who are interested in the regenerative medicine sector. This organization is the driving force for the realization of sustainable education and international cooperation, as was done with ABRM.
ABRM is one of the leading authorities in the world in the field of regenerative medicine, and has collaborated with various countries in developing a safe and evidence-based regenerative medical practice standard. Through this collaboration, Indonesia now has an official and legitimate route for the development of the interest of doctors who want to explore the regenerative medicine.
Training is organized intensively and structured which includes scientific theory, clinical prectt, and assessment of capabilities in the field of regenerative medicine carried out by a team of experts both from within and outside the country.
In addition to scientific aspects, dr. Yanuarso, sp.OT, Subspeces CO(K), MH also highlighted the importance of regulation. He hopes that through this training route, the practice of regenerative medicine such as Stem Cell in Indonesia can be more controlled and has uniform standards.
One of the participants, dr. Cosmos Mangunsong, SpM (K) (Jakarta Stemcell Center, Jakarta Eye Center) expressed its positive impression on this program.
This training gives me a new perspective on how regenerative medicine, in this case stem cells should be applied, not just trends, but must be based on strong ethics and knowledge. This is an investment for the future of the medical profession," he said.

In terms of service development, one of the non-doctor participants of Ibu Sari W Pramono, BA said the importance of this training in developing services in the regenerative medicine sector, especially the use of Stem Cell.
In the future, INASRM targets to hold this training regularly, as well as continue to expand cooperation with various institutions and hospitals throughout Indonesia. Interest from various hospitals has also begun to emerge, signaling that awareness of the importance of legality and standards in the field of regenerative medicine is increasing.
"We hope that with the certified officers, the community will receive services that are safe for regenerative medical therapy, especially the provision of Stem Cell which is still a service-based research," added dr. Jonny.
With the implementation of this first graduation, Indonesia has officially opened a new chapter for the medical profession in the face of the personalized and predictive medical era. This international training is not only a symbol of recognition, but also a commitment towards medical evidence based by upholding the patient safety aspect.
