The Duel Of Tyson Fury And Anthony Joshua Is Still Possible

JAKARTA Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua only need to send messages or calls to each other to realize their duels that many boxing fans have been waiting for.

The famous boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes that the match between Joshua and Fury is not impossible at all. According to him, the two names only need communication with each other.

"This is the kind of fight that might occur through DM (direct message) between the two or via text message or phone," Hearn was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Fury, 36, retired from boxing weeks after losing his second consecutive defeat to WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO heavyweight champions Oleksandr Usyk, in December 2024.

On the other hand, 35-year-old Joshua has not been in the ring since the defeat in September 2024 to IBF title holder Daniel Dubois. Joshua is still sidelined due to a slight injury during training.

Joshua and Fury were previously two heavyweight world champions. The intense battle between two British boxing stars has been the talk of the town for a long time, but has always stopped during negotiations.

"Both of them are big names, both of them have almost reached the peak of their careers, but more importantly, both are still in golden age," Hearn said.

Previously, well-known promoter Bob Arum expressed confidence Fury's comeback was gone after he managed to raise so much money during his brilliant career.

Fury was recorded as having an unbeaten record in his career before he met Oleksandr Usyk twice last year. In all those fights, he lost points before deciding to hang up his boxing gloves.

The first defeat occurred in May 2024 in the fight for the undisputed heavyweight world title. He then lost the second fight when Usyk's IBF belt had been handed over to Daniel Dubois.
