Apple Prepares 'Vision Air' Headset With Thiner And Lighter Design, Present In Midnight Color

JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly developing a new headset called Vision Air which will be the lighter and slimmer version of Vision Pro. This information comes from a technology leak known as Kosutami (@Kosutami_Ito), which previously gave accurate leaks regarding the product of the Cupertino-based company.

In his upload on platform X, Kosutami said that Vision Air will have a thinner design and lighter weight. This weight reduction is done by replacing several internal components and battery containers with titanium materials.

Most of the bodies still use aluminum like Vision Pro, but this device will appear with a new color called "Midnight", which is dark blue blackish. This is a striking difference compared to Vision Pro which is currently only available in silver.

Kosutami also showed a new Lightning-style cable in Midnight color, which is believed to be part of Vision Air. The cable has eight pins, in contrast to the Vision Pro cable which has twelve pins, indicating significant design changes.

Vision Air is believed to be a more affordable version of Apple's headset line, although it still carries premium characteristics from the company. Meanwhile, Apple is also reportedly preparing a second-generation Vision Pro which will use an M5 chip and is planned to launch between the end of 2025 and early 2026.

Although there has been no official confirmation from Apple, these rumors reinforce speculation that the Cupertino-based company is trying to expand the reach of its products in the mixed reality technology market, by presenting physically and financially lighter options.

Kosutami itself has a fairly good track record in leaking Apple product information, including early disclosures of FineWoven's watch straps and the latest iPhone battery designs. If this leak is accurate, the presence of Vision Air could be Apple's strategic step to attract more users to augmented reality and virtual reality worlds
