Jeep Hasn't Launched Wrangler PHEV Variant In Indonesia, Here's Why
JAKARTA - PT Indomobil Distribution Indonesia has officially launched a Jeep brand for the Indonesian market by officially selling Wrangler 4-Door Rubicon.
For the country's market, this one-body SUV is available in the choice of pure gasoline with a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that can pump up to 270 ps of power and 400 Nm torque coupled to an automatic transmission of eight accelerations.
Indomobil has officially brought Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Rubicon to the Indonesian market at a price of IDR 2.389 billion On The Road Jakarta and is an imported product (CBU) from the United States (US).
Thus, the company has not launched the Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) variant for Wrangler as offered globally. However, the brand has certain reasons for not offering this type in Indonesia.
Jeep Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer, Ario Soerjo said the reason he only provided the gasoline variant was because of the availability of stocks and added that the PHEV type was not yet available with the right steering configuration.
"Regarding PHEV, I can only say that I will return to the stock and for the right steering wheel, it is currently not available," he said in the middle of the launch event in Cilandak, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 16.

Nevertheless, Soerjo added that his party opened the opportunity to present the PHEV variant to the Indonesian market when the stock was available and unlimited.
"But if it is available later, we will definitely try to enter Indonesia," he added.
The Jeep Wrangler PHEV variant or called 4xe has been launched globally in 2021 by maximizing the engine capability of 2.0 liters of turbo 4-cylinder. Combined with electric drive, the car can emit up to 375 cellphones and 637 Nm of torque,
This is assisted by a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery which is claimed to have a distance of 34 km with pure electric power.
Currently, Wrangler's 4xe variant is available in key markets such as China, Europe, and the United States (US).
