Indonesia Again Sends 12 Innovations Of National Children's Technology To WSIS Prizes 2025
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has again delivered 12 innovations by the nation's children to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2025.
WSIS Prize is an annual award given by the United Nations (UN) through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the field of information technology and world communications.
In the previous year, JaWAra Internet Sehat, a digital literacy program initiated by ICT Watch with WhatsApp Indonesia, managed to qualify as Winner (main winner) in the C4 Capacity Building category at WSIS Prizes 2024.
In 2025, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria is optimistic that Indonesia will bring home a victory like the previous year.
"Last year, delivering 12 nominees, and thank God someone won, hopefully this year we can also dominate the category contested or contested by WSIS Prize," said Nezar on Wednesday, April 16 at the Jakarta Komdigi Office.
Indonesia, continued Nezar, already has a proud track record in this event. "We have won the main award six times. Among them are through the initiative of the Healthy Internet, Good Indonesia, and the National Movement for Creative Cyber Literacy," he said.
