Appreciation Of The Evacuation Apparatus For The Gold Pendulang Korban KKB, Yahukimo Regional Government Admits It Has No Authority To Issue A Mining Permit

PAPUA - Yahukimo Regent Didimus Yahuli appreciated the efforts of the TNI-Polri officers to evacuate gold collectors in his area who were victims of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack.

"I really appreciate the various efforts made by TNI-Polri personnel who have evacuated the victims, especially those who died and were finally buried in Dekai," said Didimus Regent, Wednesday, April 16, as reported by Antara.

Regent Didimus conveyed that for the condition of the body of the gold collector that was not possible to be flown to his hometown, it was agreed that he would be buried in Dekai.

Regarding the mining business license (IUP) in its area, Regent Didimus said the Yahukimo Regency Government (Pemkab) does not have the authority. That's because mining business permits can only be issued by the Provincial or Central Government.

"The Yahukimo Regional Government does not have the authority to regulate or disburse mining permits, therefore it becomes the authority of the province and the center," he said.

He also hopes that the police can reveal further, especially regarding the attack.

Currently, the joint TNI-Polri apparatus is still conducting a sweep to find the gold collectors who were victims of the KKB murder in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

So far, 15 bodies have been buried, consisting of 14 in Dekai and one in Tanah Merah, Boven Digoel Regency. They are workers in the Kawe mining area, Papua Mountains.
